What is the Institute for Healthy Living?
The Institute for Healthy Living is a medically-integrated wellness and fitness center. We have conveniently incorporated all aspects of physical health into one facility. For those that require recuperation, we offer outpatient physical therapy, speech therapy, and cardiac rehabilitation. For those that are healthy and want to remain healthy, we offer the most technologically-advanced fitness facility with state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment.

What special features make the Institute for Healthy Living different than other gyms?
We not only provide equipment and services for healthy, self-motivated individuals, but also for those who need physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, weight management, and those who just have difficulty finding the motivation to maintain a regular work-out routine.

We have educational offerings daily. With four classrooms, you can take part in classes on a variety of health subjects, enroll in a CPR class, or learn better nutrition habits. We have a registered dietitian on staff to help our members learn more about eating right and maintaining a healthy weight.

Can anyone join the Institute for Healthy Living?
Yes, absolutely anyone may join the Institute for Healthy Living. And once you join, you will find that it is more than just a gym. Fitness Specialists will meet with you to provide you with feedback and measurements on your current health status. After assessment, you will have up to two 30-minute training sessions, where the Fitness Specialist will set you up on a customized program, making sure that what you are doing will help you reach your personal goals.

What specific fitness features does the Institute for Healthy Living have?
The Institute has an indoor rubberized walking track, and an outdoor walking trail, measuring one-half mile, around the beautiful pond. As a member, you will have access to the best group exercise classes in the region, including step, Pilates, yoga, dance, group cycling, and aquatics classes.

The fitness room is equipped with Pre-Cor and LifeFitness state-of-the-art cardiovascular training equipment with integrated TVs including treadmills, upright and recumbent bicycles, ellipticals, steppers and stairmills, and upper body ergometers. This area also includes LifeFitness Signature and Free Motion Strength Training Equipment with a USB Tracking System to track the training effectiveness of each personal fitness program. Hammer Strength Free Weight Equipment is also available in a designated area.

What aquatics features does the Institute for Healthy Living have?
The Institute for Healthy Living houses a heated four-lane indoor lap swim pool, as well as a "lazy river" resistance pool, two whirlpools, and hot and cold plunge pools.

The center offers adult fitness swim programs, senior exercise classes, aquatic exercise, aquatic arthritis classes and prenatal exercise classes. We also offer “family swim” during certain times for parents and children of all ages.

What amenities are available at the Institute for Healthy Living?
At the Institute for Healthy Living, you will find the Healthy Living Spa, a full-service day spa with massage, pedicures, manicures, and facials. We also offer the Healthy Living Café, a coffee/smoothie bar and deli, featuring daily specials. Discounts will be available for members.

The Institute for Healthy Living is situated on 52 acres of beautiful wooded land, with a view of its own pond. An upstairs patio is available for members to enjoy, taking in the natural beauty of the area.

What are the Institute for Healthy Living’s hours of operation?

Monday – Thursday     5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday                       5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday                   7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday                     12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Are child care services available?
At the Healthy Living Hideaway, children age 0-12 will be supervised in a playful environment so that members are able to utilize the facility with peace of mind.

The Healthy Living Hideaway will be available for up to two hours per day during the following times:

Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday           8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

What are the age requirements for a “child membership” and an “adult membership”?
Child members are age 0-18. Children up to 12 years of age can use the Healthy Living Hideaway, with fun activities and programs. Children age 12 and under are not allowed upstairs in the fitness facility. Children ages 13 and 14 may use the facility with parental supervision only. Teenagers 15-18 may use any of the Institute’s facilities.

The gymnasium is available to children ages 12 and older whose parent(s) or guardian(s) is in the building. The outdoor track is available to all children under the age of 15 with parental supervision. Strollers are permitted.

Are guest passes available?
As a guest, your first visit accompanied by a member is free. Afterwards, each guest pass is $7 when accompanied by a member, and $10 without a member. For our more frequent guests, we offer a punch card with ten visits for $50.

Are the Healthy Living Spa and Healthy Living Cafe open to the public?
Yes! While members of the Institute will enjoy the benefit of a discount, these entities are open to the public.
